Clerks Select 20th Anniversary Action Figures In Stores Now!

They’re not even supposed to be here today! Oh, wait -- yes, they are!

For 20 years, director Kevin Smith has been entertaining us with his tales from the View Askewniverse, populated by the dysfunctional residents of Leonardo, New Jersey. Now, at your local comic shop, Diamond Select Toys has released four Select-scale action figures based on the film that started it all, Clerks!

Each 7-inch scale action figure is captured in the film’s famous black-and-white palette, and includes film-accurate accessories like hockey sticks, eggs, lasagna, VHS tapes and a boom box. Each figure also comes with a diorama base: Quick Stop employee Dante Hicks and perpetual loiterer Jay each come with half of the Quick Stop, while RST Video employee Randal Graves and spectator Silent Bob each come with half of RST Video! The cardboard backdrops fit into the sidewalk bases, and can be reversed to show the interior of each store! Collect all four to build the shopping center!

Sculpted by Patrick Piggott, each figure comes packaged in oversized Select-style display packaging, with spine artwork for easy shelf reference. Look for them at your local comic shop (if they don’t have them, they can order them) or order through your favorite online toy retailer!

Ask DST #291: Marvel Select & Retro Q&A!

It’s time for another Ask DST with Diamond Select Toys president DSTChuck! We’re only nine away from his landmark 300th Q&A, and this time he's answering all of your Marvel Select and Marvel Retro questions! DSTChuck oversees the Select line and keeps a close eye on the Retro line, and while he doesn’t reveal DST’s full 2016 line-up, he certainly rules some things out. This week's special guest star: fellow Spider-Man fan Lee Burns! If you have your own question, e-mail him!

Phil C.

Hello! The likenesses and bases on your upcoming GOTHAM Select line-up look fantastic. I almost want to buy them and I've never seen the show. My question is normally DST has a "wait-and-see" approach when it comes to new shows/licensing, usually awaiting a third season greenlight before pursuing merchandise. Why is Gotham so special that it has six action figures being released and multiple Minimates before the mid-point of Season Two airs? Just saying... Marvel's Agents of SHIELD is entering Season Three and has no merchandise, and you have an existing relationship with that company. Are you more willing these days to take chances on merchandise from new properties sooner? Thanks!

DSTChuck: Phil that’s a good question! You are correct, for the most part we wait for the second season to be greenlight (I would not say third season). But truly, we felt this show was a very unique opportunity, with all the history behind the characters and strong ratings the show had from the start, and it gave us the chance to jump into an area we had not done before – DCU action figures. I am glad you like what you have seen. For now, we are not planning Agents of Shield, but never say never.

Wes P.

Hi! You have mentioned a few times lately that both Rogue and Psylocke have been on your lists for some time in terms of Marvel Select figures. With Psylocke figuring into the new X-men movie coming out, could 2016 be her year? Also, could both of the ladies (if they come) please, please, please be in their 90s Jim Lee Blue strike force uniforms so that they could display nicely with the already released Gambit? Is there a chance that other X-men big guns like Cyclops, Jean and Storm could be revisited in their 90s looks as well? Thanks so much, and looking forward to more Select figures!

DSTChuck: We are very close to locking down 2016, and hopefully will have new figures to show soon. There will be several movie figures and some 616 as well. I would not, however, call 2016 a strong X-Men year.

Paul D.

1. Beyond the movies, any teases for character choices for Selects for 2016?

2. Is female Thor a possibility?

DSTChuck: Female Thor is not in the plans at this moment but there is still time, so we’ll see.

Jonathan A.

You guys have been hitting it out of the ballpark lately. You guys offer some great figures with cool accessories. I'm a huge fan of your display bases and was wondering why some figures don't come with one and if you guys are planning to do more villains, specifically a modern comic Thanos or an Ultron based on the Djurdjevic cover for Age of Ultron

DSTChuck: Glad you like the recent releases. I don’t think there is a set rule yet (or right now) for bases, aside from the fact that larger figures do not get one. Sometimes we look at a second figure or a bunch of accessories like extra hands, sometimes the character calls for something specific like the spinning Thor hammer or the Pizza Dog. The Ultron we did was fairly recent, so I don’t think we would look at another version for some time.

Bryan V.

Hello this is more of a request rather than a question. Could you guys please do a Marvel Select Figure of SPIDER-GWEN? Thank you.

DSTChuck: That’s a very good suggestion, and honestly, if we can slide one into 2016 we really might consider it.

Drew T.

Hi, with X-Men Apocalypse movie coming it's time for MORE Marvel Select MUTANTS! Classic Professor X w/ wheelchair, Jean Grey Phoenix/ Dark Phoenix variant, Angel red and blue costumes, blue furry Beast, Iceman, Kitty Pryde and Jim Lee Rogue, Psylocke, and Jubilee! Maybe later Jim Lee Cyclops and Jean Grey to round out 90s X-Men! I proudly display my Marvel Select 1975 All New X-men 40th anniversary this year 2015! And 1 more team Fantastic 4 Classic Mr Fantastic w/ stretchy limbs, Invisible Girl/ Clear variant, and Human Torch/ Johnny Storm variant to go with Thing, Dr Doom, and Silver Surfer! F4 just had a movie after all! Thanks

DSTChuck: That’s three or four years’ worth of releases right there. Unfortunately,2015 is more or less finished (just Dr. Strange to go), and 2016 is, as I mentioned, not a strong X-Men year. But we’ll see what 2017 brings!

Drew T.

Thanks for answering my previous questions about DST Retro Mego Marvel sets! I saw the Deadpool set at SDCC! Cool! Pictured on his box were also Daredevil, Punisher, and Spiderman 2099! Marvelous choices! Is that the plan 4 sets per a year? Not enough. If sales warrant it 6-8 sets would be better and we still need a FEMALE (Jean Grey, Spider-Woman) and VILLIAN (Dr Doom, Green Goblin) Can never make enough X-Men and Avengers! Hope single figures can be sold someday!

DSTChuck: Drew, my pleasure, and thanks for your support of the retro sets. They really have been a labor of love for all involved. I think with the limited nature and the higher end SRP, our thinking was not to put too many out on the market at one time, so collectors would have a chance to save up for them. I think if sales warrant, we would like to continue with the plan of four sets per year as a guideline.

Daniel L.

Hi, I just got the Marvel Select Black Widow, I have to say it is the best Marvel Select figure ever (or any action figure). The sculpt and articulation is perfect. I also got the Ant Man movie select, it is great too. I am looking forward to any Select figures you guys will be making, Ghostbusters, Gotham, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction etc. Have you guys decided what/how many characters will be made for Captain America Civil War yet? I am hoping the following movie version will be made:

1) Scarlett Witch

2) Captain America (new)

3) Iron Man Mark? (new)

4) Hawkeye (new)

5) Winter Soldier

DSTChuck: So glad you like her, she really has been the missing piece from the movie line, and I’m so glad we were able to get to her. I kind of like that we ended up waiting. The lessons learned on the unreleased Mystique figure really helped us evolve how we looked at female figures. As to Civil War, that is a very difficult question, as I think by now you all know how many characters there are in the movie. I think we’re looking at three from the movie, but I am SURE that will leave out many characters that fans will really want to see.

Rodney H.

Hello DSTCHUCK: I know you will not be doing anymore AOU FIGURES. I also know that due to you guys budget, you guys are not always able to make every figure that we as fans would like. By the way 2015 was awesome, great job. I just have a few questions I'm hoping you can answer.

1. Why is it that sometimes pre-existing figures are released in the same mold but just in a different color, like AOU Thor which is just a repainted when that slot could have been used for a new character like vision, Scarlett witch, or quick silver or MOVIE Ultron?

2. Would you be able to hint how many reissues we are looking at for in 2016?

3. With civil war on its way, is it a good chance that we will get a quick silver and scarlett witch along with new character. Since we know that the usual slots will surely be taken for CAPT, SPIDEY, THOR, HULK and IRON MAN. Thanks chuck keep up the great work!

DSTChuck: Hey, Rodney! I would not really say it’s budget driven, but for sure there are figures that once we design or sculpt, we find out it’s going to break the budget. In those cases we need to decide if we pull the project back and simplify it to fit the budget, OR we go forward and break the planning model. I have to say more times than not we push forward and figure we’ll make it up somewhere later.

1. For Thor, we figured he was a key part of the franchise and would be a good figure to do, however we didn’t just want to re-paint it so we went forward with the extra expense and created a very large new base from scratch.

2. I do not know how many re-issues we will do, and it’s not to be coy, but that is something that is very much driven by the sales dept. and they let us know when we need to look at a reissue.

3. I think, for now, we are going to stay away from Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, but we’ll see what the future holds. As it stands, I think for a new character Vision would make more sense than those choices.

Fabian C.

Hi Chuck, love your Marvel Select line and especially the big figures Juggernaut, Abomination, Hulk and Thing. 1st I know is hard to make the big figures cause of price points and fitting in the line packaging but please make some more of these if possible. Apocalypse and Skaar are names that are in my head but any you want would be great. 2nd Is it possible you could make an Odin, Vision, Beast, Wonderman, Hercules and Namor? 3rd Some bad guys that would be great are Surtur, Executioner and Comic Loki? These are possible, hopeful suggestions for future because I know 2016 is almost all planned so maybe for end of 2016 or 2017? Let me know what you think. Thanks Chuck for reading this and for your great work for us fans!!! Fabian Cho

DSTChuck: Glad you like the line. I can tell you for SURE there will be another XL figure in the line in 2016.

Fabricio B.

What I really would like to know is if you are planning to launch a marvel select inspired in the X-Men from the 90´s like you´ve done with yellow and blue Wolverine and Gambit. I really would like to have Rogue, Jean Grey and Cyclops. Would also be cool to see some other villains like Apocalypse and Mystique. For me the Jim Lee design is the definitive design for the X-Men. Other characters from the universe are also most welcome.

DSTChuck: I think if we could make it work and plan things out and all things being equal, we would like to do more Jim Lee-era X-Men figures.

Lee B.

Hey Chuck & Co. hope you’re all good, just got my new laptop hence no important questions on my part hehe ;)

1) So guys first up has gotta be Spider-Gwen I kid you not even people who don't always buy action figures will be all over this piece of AWESOMENESS!!! Seriously she is pure epic and something I always enjoy reading absolute PERFECTION! Look's Wit and Charm all the way!!!

2) Cindy Moon aka Silk I love how Marvel have changed the game with Silk it makes sense the spider that bit Pete would bite someone else simple yet so clever and game changing. She feel's fresh as she's not your stereotypical Asian character and for me has already made my top 10 favorite characters, again the look is cool and is something we sorely need as there's not many female select's to be honest #GiveDivasAChance lol

3) Spider-Man 2099 someone with a huge fan base and oh boy Miguel O' Hara would be a KNOCKOUT!!! The look has changed slightly for the new re-launch but says how epic he is that when he was bought back a couple years ago the costume didn't even need to be updated although I am digging the new threads :)

4) Kaine Parker aka Scarlet Spider If I am honest Kaine is one of my top 3 all-time fav's he has come full circle and had more character development than arguably any character in any comic book company! He's a clone yet he is completely different to Peter in every single way!!! Picture this he'd be in between Hulk and Carnage for size! Interchangeable hands (((Stakes coming out his wrists))) He would just ooze Aggression!

5) The Ultimate Spider-Man aka Miles Morales and with Marvel's re-branding, there being One All New/All Different Universe! He's set to be one of the biggest characters going forward. Also it's been a long time coming for many of us... J

6) The Amazing Spider-Man so with Peter Parker taking over the baxter building and finally stepping up, New Look & New Attitude I would love to see this Marvel Select yes we've had to many Peter Parker's and this is a lifelong Spidey Fan talking but idk it just feels right!!!

7) Sam Alexander aka Nova now I know some people actually hate this guy (Dan Hitchings) lol but I love Nova the guy is awesome and like Miles he would be epic and such an appealing action figure due to size, look everything!!! "Small teeny boppers basically" haha still mark my words sales would be HUGE!!! (On Miles btw lol)

8) Thor aka Jane Foster again my friend is sore over this lol but its okay for a frog to be Thor??? Plus we'd get someone new and fresh!!! The Female Select's (Widow and Mystique) look so pretty this could be GOLD!!!

9) Morbius Always digged Michael Morbius as a character again the look is dynamic and someone with a rich history!!! For us Spidey Fan's we would be Heaven

10) Captain Marvel so Carol Denvers feels like Marvel want her to be there Wonder Woman and I like her I just felt the writer wasn't to my taste, but a new writer and someone who is probably Marvel's biggest female character also we've got the movie coming timing is everything!!!

11) Mrs. Marvel got to say again it's something new, fresh and dynamic!!! I like Karma so much diversity these days and that is just awesome! :)

12) Lastly One of the original 5 X-Men Hank McCoy aka Beast!!! Any look and we'd all be massively happy :)

Normally I don't ask for so many characters but hey ho I’ve got to make up for lost time ;) Also again the key word is diversity... Also Chuck I keep saw on the recent q&a that Movie Apocalypse could happen I wouldn't recommend it as let's be honest he's IVAN OOZE LOL not as bad as FF Movie but he look's AWFUL!!! Another thing with 2016 being the most Marvel/DC Movie's EVER does this mean we'll only get a few Comic Book Select’s??? :( One last question would you guys consider doing something similar to The Fearsome Foes pack where we got a lot of New Select's in One Pack ?

DSTChuck: Hey Lee – congrats on the new laptop, I hope you saved some money for more DST products!

1)      She is for sure one to consider, but for this moment she is not planned. IF the character sticks around and stays popular, I would think it’s a matter of when, not if.

2)      No plans for Silk at this time. I think it’s unlikely.

3)      No plans for 2099, but never say never.

4)      No plans at this time for Kaine, and I think he also falls under “unlikely.”

5)      No plans at this time, but never say never.

6)      A new Spidey is always possible, but a Peter in civilian clothes would be very unlikely.

7)      No plans at this time, and I think unlikely.

8)      Female Thor is someone we could consider down the road – again, if the character sticks around and remains popular.

9)      No plans for Morbius at this time, and I would think unlikely.

10)   Captain Marvel is not in the plans right now, but I would think similar to #1 & #8.

11)   No plans at this time, and I would think unlikely.

12)   Beast for sure is one we have considered many times. I would think his time will come at some point.

I do not expect us to make any products for the upcoming AOA movie. Sorry

Talia Al Ghul Joins Batman’s Femme Fatales!

Batman's femme fatales are numerous, but none are more fatal than Talia Al Ghul! A member of the Society of Shadows, Talia Al Ghul captured Batman's heart when she appeared in Batman: The Animated Series, even as his mind told him to resist. Now, Batman's forbidden love is the newest Femme Fatale PVC statue in the DC Animated line, and she's exclusively at Entertainment Earth!

In Batman: The Animated Series, Talia Al Ghul is the only daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, the leader of the organization of assassins known as the Society of Shadows. A highly trained operative and her father’s primary emissary in most affairs, Talia al Ghul first met Batman on a mission to Gotham City, where the two developed strong feelings for each other. These feelings were encouraged by Ra's, who sought a successor in the Dark Knight, but they were denied by Batman, who could not fully commit to a woman with ties to such an amoral organization.

This approximately 9-inch rendition of Talia Al Ghul was sculpted by Varner Studios based on her appearance in Batman: The Animated Series. It is constructed of high-grade vinyl and features a high level of detail and an exacting paint process, packaged inside a full-color window box suitable for display. Exclusively available through, she is in-scale to other Femme Fatales statues, including DC Animated universe versions of Batgirl, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Supergirl, Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman.

Tiago F.

Hi how are you? Since you guys can do Minimates and banks from the teenage mutant ninja turtles can’t you do some action figures from the 90s movie? Or the old mirage comics? I would love to have real adult collector’s representations of the TMNT 90s movie, and you guys are perfect to deliver that. Keep the great work guys. P.S. thank you for the normal release of the Marvel Select savage Hulk

DSTChuck: I’m doing OK, thanks for asking! We are not allowed to do action figures, Playmates has that handled. However, we do have some latitude with TMNT Minimates, so we’ll have to see where that line leads us. We recently did a Mirage Comics Minimates set for SDCC and for comic shops.

Andrew L.

I really enjoy your Lost in Space Jupiter 2 bottle opener! It is really more than expected! However, I did notice the alignment of the lower section does not match up to the upper part. An example is the lower window is not directly under the upper windows as it should be. Is there any chance of this being corrected in the future?

DSTChuck: Andrew, the sample I have here lines up fine -- please contact customer service if you need a replacement.

Vlad H.

I love DST and my DST series, however one thing that still bothers me are the gaps, particularly of missing key characters in the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel' lines. Is there ever, EVER, a possibility there could ever be a final release for the die-hard fans? I think it's something that would mean an incredible amount to a lot of fans and collectors. Thanks!

DSTChuck: I really think we covered a massive amount of the characters from Buffy and Angel, but a show like that you can never get to every character. For now, we are not looking at producing more figures, but I suppose never say never.

Moshe M.

I was wondering whether you're planning to make an electronic robot figure of Robby the Robot, similar to the one you made of the Lost in Space B9 Robot.  (As you may know, Robby and B9 are "brother" robots, both designed by the late Robert Kinoshita.)  The two of them would look very cool standing together on my shelf. :-)

DSTChuck: I think Robby would be a great follow up to B-9, so we’ll have to see what the future holds.

Alexander T.

Hi DST! I was wondering if given the truly phenomenal success of "Jurassic World", is it possible you guys could create some products for the Jurassic Park franchise? I've seen all those made by Kenner and Hasbro, they're all terrible. They all look like they're of very poor quality. I think a Select line for Jurassic Park/World would be very successful. Series 1 could be Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Ian Malcolm, John Hammond, Dr. Henry Wu and the T. Rex as they appeared in "Jurassic Park"; Series 2 could be Owen Grady, Clarie Dearing, Dr. Henry Wu, Zach & Gray Mitchell and the Velciraptor 'Blue' as they appeared in "Jurassic World"; Series 3 could be the Spinosaurus from "Jurassic Park III", along with InGen personnel Simon Masrani, Ray Arnold, Vic Hoskins and Peter Ludlow - and so on. It's just an idea of course, but given how legendary the first film is and the amazing success of the fourth one, I think it could be a very successful one.

DSTChuck: I think the new movie is great, but it would be very difficult for us to find an area that Hasbro has not covered. It’s a huge franchise for them.

Mark D.

For the Femme Fatales line I have a few questions. I am so thankful for the Supergirl Justice League Unlimited Variant of Supergirl & The B/W Haley Quinn. THANK YOU! I see that there will be a Talia Al Ghul (Batman Animated) Exclusive. Are there going to be more planned? I would simply Love a Batgirl season 4 PVC statue ( Black Outfit) as well as a Hawkgirl Justice league Unlimited unmasked Jumpsuit Variant.  Others I beg you to consider are Phantasm, Black Canary, Huntress, Vixen and for those villainous ladies of DC's animated section  GIGANTA, Foxfire, Killer Frost, Star Sapphire, Cheetah, Roxy Rocket!  This more than a fan boy request its also a thank you. I never thought I would ever get a Supergirl Unlimited anything or for that matter a Phantasm mini bust. So if what I saw in those cases at San Diego is it for now I am already Blessed. If there is more to come HECK YEAS!

DSTChuck: Mark, hopefully you and other fans have seen from what we have showed at shows that we are very committed to the franchise. I have to be honest, it’s a life’s dream to work on this. I was a small part of the team behind the Rogues Gallery action figure set when I started at Diamond Comics. I think we have shown a solid line-up for all the way to the end of 2016. We have lots of other cool ideas we could do, so hopefully sales are there. We think they will be.

Quinn M.

What is the likelihood a full size prop of the Ghostbusters proton pack can make it into production? And/Or a Ghost Trap? Thank you. P.S. In unrelated news if there is a working relationship with Universal, please consider making something prop/figure related with the 90s sci fi tv show 'SLIDERS'

DSTChuck: I am sorry, but at this time we are not allowed to make props for Ghostbusters. I loved me some Sliders, but we have nothing planned at this time.

Alan M.

Hello DST! I’m loving the Ghostbusters Select figures you showed at SDCC 2015! The fact you are making a Janine is amazing. Egon Spengler was not shown and I was wondering if he is still going to be in the second wave with Venkman? Thanks and keep up the great work with Ghostbusters!

DSTChuck: We will of course be doing Egon. We have over a two-year plan for the line and will cover the core team and more. We have not locked down the EXACT mix yet, but I am very confident Egon will be in series 2!

Ian K.

This question is towards your newly acquired Ghostbusters licensing: You've already done amazing jobs on the Star Trek toy/props that are not only very accurate, but functional and completely fun. Will you venture into that realm like Mattel did previously with Proton Wands, PKE Meters, Ghost Traps, maybe even the almighty fan-favorite Proton Pack?(Please DO! - maybe with a little backwards compatibility to the Matty Wand)

DSTChuck: Right now, we are not able to make something like that, but never say never. As time has gone on, our rights to Ghostbusters has changed many times.

Tom C.

Any chances of us seeing a re-release of the American McGee Alice figure lines from both Alice and Alice: Madness Returns? The figures are rare and most catch a hefty price when they are found for sale so there is definitely a demand for them. Thanks in advance!

DSTChuck: Sorry, I do not think there is a very good chance we will be making more.

Charles D.

I am very happy with the lost in space electronic b-9 robot, you people did an excellent job on sound and features. I am praying you do a beautiful Jupiter 2 with lights sound and retractable landing gears and other movable features. I will be the first one to buy one! Keep up the good work! Also, from aliens, I would like to see a marine drop ship and a pc tank!

DSTChuck: I suppose a Jupiter 2 is possible, we have tossed around the idea in the office a few times. I think if the sales for B9 are strong, we might consider it. As for Aliens, we have tossed around that idea as well.

Justin L.

Hi. Do you guys have any plans for action figures of the upcoming Ghostbusters (2016) movie?

DSTChuck: Sorry, our rights are restricted to the classic movies, Bandai takes care of the new movie products.

Doug G.

When is the Godzilla 74 bank being released? Are you going to add any others like Godzilla 72, 68, 62 etc? Thanks, Aikidokaiju

DSTChuck: The Godzilla 1974 bank should be out this fall. We have not planned into 2016 yet, so we’ll have to see.

Elijah M.

Will we get a toy of Bud and Lou from Batman?

DSTChuck: We do not make toys for Batman: The Animated Series, but it could be possible they end up on a statue.

Elijah M.

Can we please please please please get a toy of cheetah from justice league doom? That would make an excellent figure and you guys make the coolest toys, so try doing cheetah from justice league doom. Thank you guys

DSTChuck: Our license does not currently cover the DVD movies, but never say never!

David E.

Hi DST. What’s the status of the NX-01? Will it be released this year? Also, with the original USS Enterprise filming model being taken off of display for refurbishment, have the guys at DST been down to take a look and maybe take a scan or two for some awesome 50th Anniversary products? I love your TOS Enterprise but to get the chance to use the actual original model to reference one of your toy ships is surely an opportunity you simply can't miss! Thanks!

DSTChuck: The factory is hard at work on the new sounds and deco for the revised NX-01. As soon as we have a nice working sample that we think is decent, we’ll be sure to send it to DSTZach to film for the YouTube channel. I think our plan is to retire our first 1701, re-work what we called the 1701 HD Enterprise a little, and make that the new standard ship for us going into the 50th. But we have not planned to do all new scans or something like that.

James K.

Hello, I would look forward to a new edition of NX 01 Enterprise. And how about a Defiant or the Voyager as a model. And my greatest wish would be a tricorder from Star Trek The First Contact.

DSTChuck: I think the last list we put out, with our top choices for new ships, pretty much nails the ones we’re looking at for down the road. I can honestly say, at this point, we have not looked at the Tricorder from First Contact, but that does not mean we won’t look at it at some point.

Rick B.

Do you have plans to make other Klingon weapons, such as the D'k tahg knife? You did such a nice job with the disruptor - more please! K'pla!

DSTChuck: Right now we don’t have plans for that, but to be honest we don’t have a final decision on which one we will work on after the TNG Phaser.

Tim S.

Hi guys. Love the ships and tek. I know people complain but i don't care i love them. That said, i am probably in a minority but i don’t care if i have to wait for ships because they are cool. I just hate having to wait to hear what you’re making next. Thanks for the ships and tek. Enterprise C and motion picture klingon cruiser please.

DSTChuck: No matter which ship we select , I am sure some of the fans will wish we picked something different, but hopefully we’ll make as many fans possible with each choice.

Richard D.

I just got my Star Trek III Phaser and love it. Would you guys consider doing the version seen in the TNG episode "Final Mission"? The differences are: Weathering, rawhide grip and the lights are all green except the emitter which would be red/orange rather than the red and white lights of the current replica.

DSTChuck: Once we complete the TNG phaser we are working on, I think we can look at other versions or variants. When we do our initial designs and plan, we do keep an eye on future ideas, but it sometimes never get past that initial idea stage.

Wes C.

I just got the Trek 3 Phaser, and wanted to give my compliments. Please consider the Trek 5-6 Assault Phaser for you next release, and also the Original Series Klingon Disruptor and Communicator as a combo set. Thanks.

DSTChuck: Once we get pretty close to wrapped on the TNG, we’ll start to see what could be next.

Roderick D.

Since you guys are doing the Romulan Warbird, is there any possibility that the Mark Lenard Romulan Commander might show up as a select figure?

DSTChuck: We have no plans for him at this time, and I don’t really think we view each line to be connected in that way.

B Llyes.

Dear DST! It would be great if you made Kruge with Klingon officers Maltz or Torg in the Select line.(from Star Trek III) Is there any chance? Thanks

DSTChuck: We have no plans for any of those at this time and I don’t think any of them are near the top of the list at this time.

Joseph A.

I've already preordered the film-accurate Star Trek III phaser (my personal favorite).  And, now, I'm wondering when/if we'll ever see the ILM prototype version of this particular phaser. Any word?

DSTChuck: Joseph, I don’t think at this point we have any plans for any more versions of the Trek 3 phaser, but we never say never.

Danny D.

As you might have guessed, I am here about the Enterprise-C. I have collected all of the Enterprise starships (save for NX-01) and I really am curious to know why the C has arrived yet from the Earth Space Station McKinley Yard. I can understand that you do have other projects in mind, but I've been waiting for 8 years to collect the last ship In my collection. I also am curious about a D'Deridex Warbird for a Romulan Line. Liked the New release Ent-A and Excelsior. But seriously...the Enterprise C needs to be out here, although she only appeared during a single Star Trek: TNG episode (Yesterday's Enterprise), she does have a large impact on history in the Federation and deserves as much of the Spotlight as other ship like the Ent-D, E, and for a small amount; the B. And my rant is over. Love your ships and RP models. Good Day.

DSTChuck: Frankly, our thinking is based on what we hear from buyers and fans, and the ships we have chosen each time is the one we thought might sell the best. Of course, we do have to modify that at times, so we can mix in an alien ship or something else to add diversity to the line. For sure, the C’s short amount of screen time has had an effect on our selection process. I really don’t see how it can be as key as the touchstone D, but I guess that’s what’s fun about being a fan – you can argue that stuff.

Jason I.

I love the new Star Trek III Phaser--I've wanted one ever since the movie came out! I was psyched to see *2* models of it in some trade show pix: The film version already released and the FASA/Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise version. Have you found a retailer who can carry the variant as an exclusive? I hope it's "never say never" on its availability! Thanks for continuing to support the movie era.

DSTChuck: As I said earlier, the version in your hands is the only one we’re in the process of making at this time, but that can change any time, and we are aware of it, and do think there is demand.

John B.

I'm very late to the party but am currently racing to catch up with the Art Asylum ships and props. I'm very much a TNG era fan, especially DS9 and I love what you guys have done so far! With that in mind are there any plans to do a USS Defiant from DS9? Also any chance of a Galor class or Romulan Warbird? I'd also put my support behind a well done Tricorder and Phaser. Thanks for your time!

DSTChuck: I think overall DS9 is my favorite Trek show, so I do bring it up often. Obviously scale would be off, but we really can’t do scale for the ship line. The Defiant would simply be our smallest ship.

Adam M.

Hello, you mentioned last time that you'd look at variants for the Constitution-class given how well the Defiant sold at Comic Con. As an Australian it gets frustrating to see all of these amazing exclusives for Comic Con, but totally out of my reach. Would you consider other convention exclusives around the world? For example, the excelsior could be re-purposed for

- USS Melbourne (Australia)

- USS Berlin (Germany)

- USS Hood (UK - could also be Constitution class)

- Constitution-class USS Endeavour (UK, Aust, NZ)

and so on. Possible? Keep up the great work!

DSTChuck: Adam, yes I am sorry about that, which is one of the reasons we try to do very few that we JUST sell at our booth. Most of the exclusives we do we share with other retailers that do sell to other countries. This year we held onto a few of each exclusive to sell on our website – which unfortunately cannot sell international. Hopefully you can find a retailer that can ship to you, or a friend that can pick one up for you.
